Lanier Fussell

Lanier is a second year student in the MAIR program at UMD. Her research interests include international cooperation and resource sharing, focusing on the intersection of energy and water. Since earning her BA in International Studies from Louisiana State University in 2022, Lanier has worked as an AmeriCorps member in Oregon and as an English language assistant in France.

Bryan is a second-year student in the MAIR Program, having completed his double-major in International Relations & Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2026. He has a deep-rooted fascination with international economics and the role of corporations in influencing local governments, as well as the role of international banking institutions and their own influences on government policy of developing nations.
Emma Torbik
Marketing Director
Emma Torbik is a second-year MAIR student and the Marketing Director of BORDERS. She holds a BA in Political Science with a concentration in International Politics from DePaul University. Her primary research interests lie in international security, war & conflict, and conflict resolution within Eastern European and Balkan countries.
Jaila Murray
Editor
Jaila Murray is a second year in the 4+1 MAIR program, having earned her BA in International Relations last spring. Her interests lie in conflict resolution, foreign policy analysis, and diplomacy. She has a special interest in the usage of culture in diplomacy. Outside of class, she spends most of her time learning foreign languages and reading.
